"52 Samples" displays individual's fingerprints within petri dishes.Once the fingerprint was imprinted onto the dish, the bacteria from the subject's finger contaminated the dish. This bacteria will grow and be on display to people passing on the street. Data relating to the subject's name, age and occupation is displayed in conjunction with a touch interface that allows the viewer to selectively highlight certain dishes with spotlights. "52 Samples" comments on emerging biotechnology that invades the privacy of our genetics by putting the everyday contaminates on an individual into the realm of public scrutiny, while also alluding to the invasion of companies looking into individual's genetic lines.
