The Meta-Project serves as an access point to the Downtown Exhibition by inserting itself into the surrounding public and private spaces. Each observation point documents and observes an individual project or physical space surrounding the exhibition. As the Downtown Exhibition blossoms the Meta-Project compiles a database of processed images reflecting the activities and developments of its lifespan. It enables the passerby to access and manipulate its collection of data in a random non-linear fashion and to collapse time and space, a sort of omni-telepresence.
Directions
Stand approximately two feet from window and place both hands inline with the black circles. Experiment with each hands proximity to the window. Notice the surrounding nodes; touching one changes the interface’s perception of time or space.Left Node: The left node enables a participant to navigate time based on their hand’s proximity to the black and red circle. Its surrounding nodes are touch pads that correspond with the way time is visualized. Experiment with dropping the left hand at different points while maintaining the position of the right.
Right Node: The right node controls the speed at which images are viewed and its surrounding nodes designate the physical location of observation points throughout the street.
