Golf is unlike many other sports. No standard playing field exist and therefore each course is designed as a specific model of interaction with the environment. Every course represents a fantasy of play and expectation. The aesthetics of course development involves situating game theory against a backdrop of artificiality and terrain management.
The Silicon Valley Golf Classic introduces the notion of the corporate campus as golf link. Cisco, Ebay, Adobe, Sun, IBM, Intel and others provide for a ready made environmental community conducive to driving golf balls and confronting obstacles.

As you move up to the tee imagine the best days of your life. Full of termination and little risk (because you know you are the #1) you get out your Big Dog (No.one wood) and let it eat. You don't care that you are hitting towards an economic void -- an untilled field in the middle of Silicon Valley. You leave the ball and run away.

This Island Green of San Jose calls for the player to scale the fence and leave your ball into the foundation of a new Silicon Valley landmark.

Ascend the levy overlooking San Thomas Aquino Creek. Set up in linear row of golfers placed on club distance apart. Use a tee. On a 3 count the group of golfers will be instructed to drive their balls directly west into open parking lot. Descend the levy and exit immediately.
Climb the levy to reveal an economic expanse described by the loss of potentiality. An empty bridge of opportunity separates you from a dog leg left. One can only wonder if it is possible. An imaginary of a ball as it lifts to reveal its origin. Quite and contemplative the golfer must swing only once, crisp and clean like the quite stream below through which dreams of Silicon Valley flow.

1. You can stand any where near the buildings.
2. This is a par 3 hole. Of you did not make it at the first shot, you have a choice to make the second one from where you started or pick up the distance from where your first ball landed.
