Stephan Hechenberger is currently a graduate student at the
CADRE Laboratory for New Media where he indulges in the activity of
freestyle computing. He is bored with default software such as Photoshop, Word, Maya and Yahoo Mail and preferes to write his own. He is especially interested in the concept of abstraction layers and their ontologies. If a pen abstracts the process of applying ink onto a surface and is as such an amazing tool, how amazing is it to design customary abstraction layers that are linked, nested, opposed, lined-up, and/or entangled.
Represntative works that draw from that amazment are
PARAMA,
SLUT and
Stefanix.
Stephan Hechenberger is also the
managing editor of
Switch.
