Personal Interpreters

pi1

Personal Interpreters is a piece by Fabian Winkler in which a set of small robotic devices deconstruct the audio signals from television broadcasts, and re-interpret them into abstract rhythmic sounds using the actual TV as a resonant body. The translation process creates a surprising relationship between the image and resulting sound, challenging the audience to watch well-known TV content in novel ways.
