| Making Visible the Invisible |
|
George Legrady gave a talk today on his piece Making Visible the Invisible, which was created in 2004 for the main branch of the Seattle City Library. The project is a visualization of book traffic through the library, keeping tabs on what books are being checked in/out, the time they are checked in/out, the duey decimal number they are catalogged under, and keywords.
The display is shown on 6 LCD panels positioned above a librarians desk, and the method of visualization changes intermittently to reveal different aspects. Here is some video of legrady's video documentation of his project.
