7. Information Theory

CL: What issues seem most pressing to you as an artist right now?
SLAYTON: I guess two things. One, is to create new collaborative models for getting things done that involve using computers. I don't really know how to express the idea very clearly but it has to do with using information theory and the mere existence of these technologies to forge new kinds of collaborative relationships and structures that result in a different kind of art being made. It's something that I'm really interested in because the structures involve community and they involve industry and they involve education... I mean they've taken on a different kind of shape and form than I think they would have before because of technology.
