Agostino Di Scipio
Biographical Information
Agostino Di Scipio is a composer and researcher based in L'Aquila (Italy).
He has joined many computer music groups in Italy, including CSC (Univ.
of Padova), CRM (Rome) and LMS (Univ. of L'Aquila), and recently was appointed
on the boards of directors of AIMI (Italian Association for Musical Informatics).
Visiting composer at Simon Fraser University (Vancouver, 1993) and Sibelius
Academy (Helsinki, 1995). He teaches Electroacoustic Music at Conservatory
of Bari. His music, though reputed by many radically experimental, has been
performed in many countries, in Europe, America and Asia, and has been recognized
publically at the Bourges International Concurse de la Musique Electroacoustique
(1991) and at Prix Ars Electronica, Linz (1995). His writings have been
published in several reviews and journals, including Contemporary Music
Review (UK), Journal of New Music Research (NL), Perspectives of New Music
(USA).
